Watercolour Studies

Some recent studies done in the context of my introduction to watercolours class. The first two were inspired by some of Paul Klee’s watercolours which our teacher had us comment on in class. I enjoy doing this colour exercise so much that I’ve been doing several a day this week because, among other things, I find it so relaxing. The top one is my own interpretation of Kandinsky’s Black Lines à la Klee and is my favourite piece of all so far. The flowers… didn’t think I’d much like painting flowers actually, but I’m quite pleased with these first attempts and could easily be persuaded to do more.
